As the world reopens and experiences resume after COVID-19 lockdowns, it’s paramount that we all act responsibly to protect ourselves and our guests, as well as to prevent further spreading of the virus. With that in mind, here are our recommendations for City Unscripted hosts based on guidance from the World Health Organization and the US Centers for Disease Control.
Along with these guidelines, it is your responsibility to monitor and follow all local and national recommendations and restrictions.
General recommendations
If you are feeling ill and/or have a temperature above 37.3C you must let us know as soon as possible so we can cancel your experience and you must stay home. If you have or think you have symptoms, wait 72 hours after symptoms disappear before hosting an experience. If you’ve been in contact with someone who is infected, wait 14 days before hosting an experience. The best way to reach us is via email to: hosts@cityunscripted.com
City Unscripted guidelines to follow on an experience:
- Always check local advisories and public health recommendations!
- Wear a mask while traveling to and from your experience, when you take public transport with the guests, when entering indoor places, when walking through crowded places where it’s not possible to keep the safe social distance of 1.5 meters. Read the WHO advice for the public: When and how to use masks for further details.
- Wash your hands before, during and after your experience.Provide opportunities for guests to wash their hands during the experience. Carry a hand sanitizer with you at all times and use it frequently (at least every 30 minutes). Ask the guests if they have hand sanitizer and, if they don't, offer your help to purchase some.
- Avoid direct contact with guests and encourage guests to avoid it as well. In lieu of handshakes or hugging, consider alternative no-contact greetings. You must keep a safe social distance of 1.5 meters from the guests at all times.
- Suggest a meeting location and itinerary to visit places in order to avoid crowds. Think about transit options and how to avoid peak times or traveling in close contact with your guests.
- If the experience is canceled due to Covid-19 (travel restrictions for the country / area, symptoms recorded by guests or host etc) the standard policy for cancellation due to force majeure applies. The customer will be fully refunded and the host won’t get paid for the time.
What we’re asking of guests
We’re also providing guidelines for guests taking experiences. We’ll be suggesting that all guests cancel and stay home if they’re ill, wash their hands, bring hand sanitizer, carry a mask and wear it when necessary, and keep a safe physical distance from both you and others. Read our guest guidelines.
